This years Poppy Appeal received a pleasant boost in the way of a cheque for the sum of approximately € 900,00 which was presented just prior to the Regimental Photograph and medal parade by The Queen’s Royal Hussars Commanding Officer Lt Col Ian Mortimer. The parade which took place in Athlone Barracks Sennelager on the 24th May 2012 was carried out in the presence of their Colonel in Chief, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. On a sun drenched morning all ranks from the regiment including some wounded servicemen were on parade bringing the realisation of how important fund raising for the Royal British Legion has become and will be in the future. Our branch photographer was also present at the parade and the photographs he took can be viewed at QRH Parade Album.
